Merkle VIP
Merkle VIP is Merkle's loyalty program that gives you trading fee discounts based on your recent trading activity, with optional boosts for MKL holders.
Your Merkle VIP tier is determined by:
Trailing 30-day weighted trading volume
Optional MKL tier boost (up to +3 tier)
VIP tiers are evaluated once per day at 00:00 UTC and remain fixed for the next 24 hours.

VIP qualification uses weighted trading volume to reflect different fee profiles across markets.

Weighted volume is applied automatically when your trailing 30-day volume is calculated.
MKL tier boost
Eligible MKL can boost your VIP tier by up to +3 levels.

What counts as eligible MKL
Eligible MKL is the sum of:
Account MKL balance: MKL held in your account.
Staked MKL: MKL currently staked in Merkle staking contract (incl. esMKL).
MKL staking power (veMKL): Staking power derived from locked MKL.
Eligible MKL balances are calculated using a 24-hour average to prevent last-minute balance padding.
Example
If you have 100 MKL in your wallet and 100 MKL locked for half of the max lock period (so staking power = 50 veMKL), your eligible MKL is calculated as follows:
Eligible MKL = 100 (wallet) + 100 (staked) + 50 (staking power) = 250 MKL
Tier evaluation schedule
VIP tier is evaluated once per day at 00:00 UTC.
Tier remains fixed for the next 24 hours.
In case update is delayed, your previous VIP tier will remain active until the next update.
Daily evaluation and onchain tier updates are run by the Merkle team and are verifiable using publicly available onchain data where applicable.
To protect the protocol and the community, the team reserves the right to withhold or revoke VIP tier eligibility for accounts flagged for harmful activity, including protocol abuse or exploitation attempts.
