Getting Started (EVM wallet)

Please note that you can use either an EVM wallet or an Aptos wallet when connecting to Merkle Trade.

1. Connect EVM Wallet

• Step 1: connect your EVM-compatible wallet (e.g. Metamask, Rainbow, WalletConnect).

• Step 2: sign the message with your wallet.

The signature in step 2 is used to create an Aptos address on Merkle’s frontend. The generated Aptos address is completely private and non-custodial since its seed is created with the EVM wallet when the message is signed. The credential of the generated Aptos account strictly stays within your browser and you are the only one in control of it.

2. Deposit Funds

To start trading, you first need to top up your account with USDC using the Deposit feature in the app. This feature allows you to deposit various stablecoins, such as USDC, USDT, and DAI. While USDC is deposited directly, other stablecoins are swapped and bridged.

You can deposit from six major EVM chains: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, and BSC. The deposit process typically takes 1-5 minutes, depending on the blockchain.

Once your deposit is complete, congratulations! You can now jump right into trading! 🚀
