Getting Started (EVM wallet)

Please note that you can use either an EVM wallet or an Aptos wallet when connecting to Merkle Trade

Connect EVM Wallet

  • Step 1: connect your EVM-compatible wallet (e.g. Metamask, Rainbow, WalletConnect).

  • Step 2: sign the message with your wallet.

Congratulations, you’ve successfully connected to Merkle Trade using your EVM wallet and can now deposit funds and start trading!

The signature in step 2 is used to create an Aptos address on Merkle’s frontend. The generated Aptos address is completely private and non-custodial since its seed is created with the EVM wallet when the message is signed. The credential of the generated Aptos account strictly stays within your browser and you are the only one in control of it.

Deposit Funds (USDC)

You can deposit and withdraw your USDC from/to 6 major EVM chains:

  • Ethereum

  • Arbitrum

  • Optimism

  • Polygon

  • Avalanche

  • BSC

Use the “Deposit USDC” and “Withdraw USDC” feature directly in the app. Merkle Trade relies on LayerZero for bridging the funds to/from Aptos under the hood.

Deposits (inbound to Aptos) take 1-5 minutes depending on the chain, and withdrawal time (outbound from Aptos) takes up to 3 minutes of time.

Please note that after you deposit funds to Merkle Trade using the EVM wallet, you do not have to pay any gas fees when trading. Merkle Trade covers that for you.
